You know the difference
between
the Minnesota accent and Wisconsin one
you can listen
to someone from Minnesota
talk for about five minute
before wanting to punch them in the face
Wisconsin is more like a minute and a half
There were four of them
from Wisconsin
They asked for smoked salt
and were surprised I carried it
because they hadn’t heard of it
until the night before
as if they stumbled on to the
pacific ocean
after hearing a few rumors
of where rivers go
the chef in their midst
was only interested in the salt
she was hesitant
her skeptical face almost mocking
the incredulity of the real world
and when she left
they left
All but one
one of there group stayed behind
a guy in a door to door Mormon sweater
he looked around
he found something
he opened it’s jar
put his nose close
and smelled
he chuckled to himself
he look at another jar
and repeated the method
including the chuckle
and then he left to join
his group
I hope I am like him
